Marine fisheries across the US are in decline as a direct result of overfishing, poor management and lack of science.
ASGA has emerged as the unifying voice for anglers that value abundance, thriving ecosystems and a deeper connection to our oceans.
From forage fish to striped bass, redfish, and coastal pelagics, ASGA punches above it’s weigtht class, building advocates, educating the community and funding purposeful science that directly connects to management actions that drive abundance.
Kyle has been on the ASGA board since inception and consults for the organization helping to drive fundraising, advocacy & policy efforts with a team of scrappy, resilient guides and professionals.
SENATE TESTIMONY
Kyle was called upon by Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s office to testify as a witness at the US Senate Budget Committee. Holding a unique position as a business owner on Maine’s coast and in the Bahamas and Canada, Capt. Schaefer sat amongst an esteemed panel of PhDs and provided a first-hand account of the effects of a changing climate on ocean-based small businesses. The ASGA movement amplifies the will of the people through written comments, discourse in the digital commons, and fearless participation at in-person meetings
